What We Do and Want

Tyresö is growing, and we are looking for an engaged operations technician for the VA unit with a desire to develop our pipeline network together with us.

The VA operations unit consists of 22 employees. Together, we are responsible for approximately 590 km of pipeline network, around 100 pumping stations, and pressure boosting stations. The VA unit is one of nine units in the community environment and infrastructure department. The department is responsible for the operation and development of the municipality's streets and roads, green areas, parks, VA services/pipeline networks, as well as for effective waste management. The department is also responsible for the municipality's properties, building permits, and geodata.

The VA operations are responsible for renewal as well as the operation and maintenance of municipal technical facilities in the areas of water and sewage. The operations fall under the community and infrastructure department, which deals with technical facilities and services, as well as planning, building permits, land management, road and VA design, and measurement and mapping services. The operations also actively participate in the municipality's community planning and are responsible for implementing necessary investments. The municipality is also facing a significant and long-term transformation phase in preparing for permanent construction in the eastern parts of the municipality.

About the Position

The main tasks of the position consist of preventive and corrective maintenance on our pumping stations, pressure stages, and water towers, flow meters, etc., as well as addressing urgent operational faults. You are responsible for ensuring that your work is carried out professionally and that any documentation is completed correctly after the work is done.

You will be part of a work team with another operations technician. In addition to collaboration within your own group and department, cooperation with other departments may also be included. We work closely together and support each other when needed.

Who Are You?

You have an educational background as an operations and maintenance technician or have acquired equivalent competence through work experience.

A B driver's license is a requirement for the position.

We consider the following qualifications as meritorious: Work on the road, Safe lifting, or Hot work. It is advantageous to have experience working with maintenance tasks in any type of municipal VA facilities, as the work is performed in municipal drinking water and wastewater facilities.

The municipality provides necessary training when required for the position.

It may occur that work needs to be performed outside normal working hours.

The position is security classified and requires approval upon verification.
